How Can Therapy Help?
Begin to understand what, how, and why you feel the way you do
We are all entirely unique in both physical and mental form. Talking therapy, counselling, or psychotherapy, provides a setting in which you can explore your own inner mental experience.
Face-to-face
In-person talking therapy provides a space in which to slow your thoughts down. To say out loud those things you may find hard to say. To acknowledge, understand, and sit with all the emotions that may arise. All with the support of a qualified therapist.
Confidential, Ethical, Safe
What you confide in the therapeutic space is held in strict confidence which, over time, will help you trust in and engage with me in our work.
As a practicing member of the BACP, I adhere to their Ethical Framework. This means I will conduct myself in a manner that is suitable and appropriate while working with clients and always hold your best interests at the forefront of our work.
My practice is fully insured.
About Me
Training
I completed 5 years of education and training before qualifying to practice. This included:
Introduction to Psychology
Level 2 Introduction to Counselling Skills
Level 3 Counselling Skills and Theory
BA (Hons) Integrative Relational Counselling
CPD (continuing professional development) is a part of my ongoing practice. This means I will continue to keep developing and updating my knowledge and skills as the profession progresses.
Working Style
My training had two main points of focus:
Integrative
Relational
Integrative means I use knowledge and techniques that have consistent aims across the different schools of psychotherapeutic thought and are backed by research literature, as opposed to strictly adhering to one theoretical orientation.
Relational means an acknowledgement of, and working with, the relationship that will exist between us as not only client to therapist, but also, human to human. You, your experience, and your relationships will be the primary focus, but we shall be in it together.
I only work with adults - 18yrs+.
Working Together
Reach out
Fill out the contact form on my home page or send me an email. After that we can arrange a short introductory phone call. During this call I’ll ask a few general questions about your situation, so try to find somewhere you’ll feel comfortable to talk openly.
If you’re happy to continue we’ll arrange a time to meet for our first session.
Pricing
My rate is £65 per session. Each session lasts 50 minutes.
I do have a certain number of slots at a concessionary rate, let me know if you feel you need help with the affordability of the sessions.
Set Number, Short, or Long Term
To build our therapeutic relationship we will meet at the same time on a weekly basis. If you have a specific goal or are conscious of your budget, setting a number of sessions can help focus the work. To give an example 12 sessions contracts are often offered within NHS settings.
Short term may be agreeing to work together for 6 months to a year, with long term leaving the timeframe open and working toward an ending when you’re ready.
